    The bouquet of OSMOZ CITRUS is more accessible with fresh notes of juniper completed by citrus (orange and lemon). The balsamic and resinous notes are fading away to the benefit of subtle aromas of liquorice and fruits (apple and apricot).

    It opens on fresher herbal notes of cucumber and coriander citrus notes. The end note is fresh and spicy, finishing on a subtle note of cloves and saffron.

    In the mouth, the attack is very floral and very rich in juniper notes as well as supple and fat. The aromatic notes evolve towards aromas of nuts (almonds). The well represented orange gives some fresh bitterness.

    The nose of OSMOZ CLASSIC is traditional ; the distinctive note of juniper is very expressive and full of delicateness. A herbal hint provided by coriander brings freshness. Balsamic and resinous aromatic notes remind of fir tree bud.

    This gin is very complex and develops on fruity citrus notes, even on fresh apricot with a taste of slight orange. The finish ends with notes of fresh humus, forest and spices (cloves, saffron and nutmeg) …

    In the mouth, the attack remains subtle. The well represented juniper evolves toward the freshness of coriander and cucumber. This gin has a light structure and fills the palate with fine aromas of fruits, citrus and spices.

    The finish is long and tends toward a lemon taste (lime) with a touch of bitterness and freshness.

    This release comprises a blend of eaux-de-vie from the Petite Champagne growing region. The wines for the Chateau de Montifaud VSOP Cognac have been made mainly from Ugni Blanc grapes and stored on the lees for 2-3 months before distillation to create a superb, bold character full of grapevine and fruit flavors.

    New oak casks are used for the first year of maturation, after which the eaux-de-vie are transferred into old oak (4-15 years old) for the remaining ageing time. The total process can take up to ten years – much longer than the four-year minimum required for a VSOP. With such an extraordinary suppleness and delicacy on the palate complemented by sweet hints of pear and apricot, we say this Cognac is worth the wait.

    The Vallet family have been the guardians of Château de Montifaud Cognac for six generations and are today responsible for 150 hectares of vineyards across the Grande and Petite Champagne regions. Specializing in traditional production methods, the family chooses to distil mainly Ugni Blanc grapes and always aim to age their Cognacs significantly longer than required by law.
